Technology transfer: helping you translate your discovery into the next healthcare innovation!

How we can help

If you are an MRC-employed scientist, MRC Technology (MRCT) can help you to translate your work. We protect and commercialise novel ideas, and could provide funding to get them to the next stage of development.

In addition, MRCT’s Centre for Therapeutic Discovery (CTD) works with academic researchers from any institution on small molecules early stage drug discovery programmes and antibody humanisation projects. CTD has over 100 people years of pharmaceutical company experience in computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, assay development and screening, and antibody humanization.

Who we work with

MRC Technology (MRCT) carries out technology transfer operations on behalf of the Medical Research Council to protect, develop and commercialise work carried out by its academic researchers.

How we work

MRCT has a well established process for translating academic research into commercial success. Our team of Business Managers has extensive experience in finding and assessing innovative ideas, and partnering them with our industry contacts.

Any revenue generated from commercialising academic research is shared with the originator and their institution to be re-invested in research.
